Frequently asked questions

Does Restio replace a tax advisor?
No. Restio helps you sort expenses and find deductions — but you still need a tax advisor or ELSTER for your official tax return. Restio generates ready-made packages your tax advisor can use directly.
What can Restio handle for me?
Answer tax questions, scan and sort receipts, import bank statements, spread big purchases across multiple years, explain Finanzamt letters — and at the end, generate a clean package for ELSTER or your tax advisor.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Restio uses Google Firebase with servers in the EU. Your data is encrypted and stored GDPR-compliant. We never sell data to third parties.
Do I need tax knowledge?
No. Restio is made for people who don't know much about taxes. Restio asks simple questions, recognizes what's deductible, and explains everything in plain language.
Which tax types are supported?
Restio focuses on income tax — Werbungskosten, Sonderausgaben, außergewöhnliche Belastungen, and business expenses for freelancers. VAT (Umsatzsteuer) and trade tax (Gewerbesteuer) are not currently covered.
